Rochon prisms are usually composed of two prisms of the same negative uniaxial crystal (e.g., YVO4, quartz, calcite or α-BBO) with parallel optical axes to each other, and the prisms are connected by gluing or photoglue processes. This structure allows the prism to handle the incident efficiently.
