Quartz crystal, with the chemical composition SiO2, is predominantly used for Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices. Its notable characteristics include a melting point of 1750°C, a density of 2.65×10³ kg/m³, and a Mohs hardness of 7. SAW-grade quartz crystal wafers are highly favored for their remarkable piezoelectric properties and exceptional thermal stability, where the piezoelectric and dielectric coefficients remain almost unchanged at room temperature.
